Bergeon obtains two ISO certifications

In 2010, the idea of internalising the company’s production activities began to take shape within the management team.

Until then, production was carried out through a large network of subcontractors. The latter have however been affected by repeated economic crises and hence reduced their workforce and services, leading Bergeon to initiate a vertical manufacturing process.

The first steps were taken in 2011 with the acquisition of a CNC machine fleet which enabled the company to make its debut in the field of industrial production. It was not however until 2016 that the decision was taken to implement in-house global manufacturing.

This was followed by a long journey that led the company to move to new premises in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 2017, to integrate two subcontracting companies (in 2016 and 2020) and to progressively acquire ten or so new generation CNC robotic machines. This structure now enables it to produce more than 80% of the “Bergeon Manufactured” range.

The Manufacture concept, with regard to products developed in-house, has prompted the company to structure its activities through ISO 9001 (management certification) and ISO 14001 (environmental certification) standards in order to respond to the organisational and environmental issues that are the challenges of tomorrow.

These recently acquired certifications are in line with the evolution of Bergeon’s activities in the watchmaking sector, but also open up prospects for diversification in the fields of microtechnology, medtech and automation, while respecting the company’s commitments to environmental protection and the quality of its products and services.
