Keris presents the Winding - Geneva

Specialising in the design and production of enlarged timepiece mechanisms for watchmaking Maisons, Keris has unveiled a new creation within the collection named Mechanical Wonders: The Winding - Geneva.

The change of scale transforms the experience andunderstanding of watch calibres and components. Here, the aim is not to faithfully reproduce a movement, but to isolate a characteristic horological element : the oscillating weight.

This component is presented on a scale of 26cm in height and 21cm in diameter, resting on its base and set in motion by hand. The rotor then pivots around its axis, driving an escape-wheel and the mainplate in a flowing, ephemeral mechanical ballet with a 360° amplitude. The Winding - Geneva is distinguished by a completely redesigned rotor.

The materials used – aluminium, brass and steel – are treated using the same finishes as in wristwatches: polished, beadblasted and anodised. Through this creation, the Neuchâtel-based company explores new ways of discovering and appreciating horology.
