The 19Thirty by Bovet celebrates its tenth anniversary

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of this important launch, Bovet 1822 has introduced a special edition of the 19Thirty, available in three variations. The 19Thirty collection captures and honours a moment when the watchmaking industry was undergoing a true transformation as pocket timepieces were making their way onto the wrist. Although this seems like a natural evolution for watchmaking from today’s perspective, it was a genuine revolution at the time.

With their new ergonomics, wristwatches provided more freedom and new uses, which in turn gave rise to new functions. This marked the beginning of specialised timepieces designed to meet new, more demanding needs.

This model is directly inspired by the aesthetic codes of a Maison’s watch from the 1930s belonging to brand owner Pascal Raffy’s private collection: the “easel” chronometer, which was one of the last pocket watches to be produced by Bovet before wristwatches became widespread.

While the original 19Thirty had a five-part dial, special finishes and a very classic look, this special edition is minimalist, fresh and undeniably eye-catching. The result of open brainstorming conducted throughout the Maison, where the artisans have an average age of 35, the 10th anniversary edition seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, featuring a sleeker dial that appeals to a younger audience while maintaining the collection’s distinctive character.
