Positive Coating has been colouring time for 20 years

Specialising in decorative and functional coatings for the microtechnology industry, Positive Coating is celebrating 20 years of innovation, success and service. Since its launch in 2004, this visionary company has continued to push the boundaries of the industry, providing cutting-edge coating solutions for a diverse customer base.

During these two decades, the firm has reached a key milestone: the successful handover of the business to the next generation. Founded by visionary engineer Pierre-Albert Steinmann in 2004, with the financial backing of his brother Jean-Michel, the company has enjoyed remarkable growth under the leadership of Pierre-Albert and his sister-in-law, Isabelle Droz.

Pierre-Albert’s sons Benoit and Lucien joined the firm in 2010 and 2011 respectively, bringing with them their engineering expertise and passion for innovation. In 2021, their sister Ophélie joined them, placing her interpersonal skills at the service of the family firm.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Positive Coating has launched a series of initiatives on the theme of colour. It has notably chosen to mark this jubilee by making its presence felt at the Musée International d’Horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In collaboration with this cultural institution, the brand has organised Positive Color Week, an exhibition on the theme of colour in watchmaking. It is also present on 14 November at a public lecture entitled “Colours through the centuries”, given by historian Michel Pastoureau, an event organised in partnership with the museum and Club 44.
