As official partner for the fourth consecutive year of the Venice International Film Festival organised by La Biennale di Venezia, Cartier demonstrated its sensitivity to contemporary creation in cinema, an art form with which the Maison has forged long-standing ties. The 81st Festival took place from 28 August to 7 September 2024.
These 11 days of cinematic celebration were punctuated by numerous screenings and evenings featuring guests, ambassadors and friends of the Maison. Isabelle Huppert, president of the jury and friend of the Maison, presented a number of awards including the prestigious Golden Lion.
As part of this collaboration, the Venice International Film Festival and Cartier paid tribute to exceptional filmmakers through the Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award, given to a figure who has made a significant contribution to the contemporary film industry. Previous winners include Ridley Scott (2021), Walter Hill (2022) and Wes Anderson (2023). This year, the prize went to director Claude Lelouch.
