From 12 to 13 July, the Breitling Squad took part in the Tortour 500, a Swiss ultracycling event. The team included three-time Ironman world champion Jan Frodeno, three-time Grand Tour winner Vincenzo Nibali, Swiss triathlete and Ironman racer Jan van Berkel, as well as leading cyclist Alina Jaeger.
The cyclists started and finished the race in Küsnacht near Zurich and covered a gruelling 500km loop, pedalling over Alpine terrain both day and night. They all shared the same goal: to raise funds and awareness for the South Arican-based charity Qhubeka, which provides bicycles to people living in underserved remote communities.
Since partnering in 2018, Breitling and Qhubeka have raised funds for over 2,500 bicycles and having a life-changing impact on recipients. The watch Maison supports the association’s mission of building sustainable communities, while working to ensure kids and adults have access to schools, health care, and employment opportunities.
