Piaget dedicate a collection to dragon and phoenix

In Chinese astrology, the year 2024 is placed under the sign of the dragon, a symbol of power, strength and prosperity. It provides an opportunity for the Geneva-based company to unveil a spectacular collection of ten watches and Haute Joaillerie creations dedicated to this mythical animal, as well as to the phoenix, its feminine counterpart symbolising rebirth and harmony.

To mark this event, the Manufacture called on the talents of enamelling artist Anita Porchet, who brought these two chimerical beings to life on the dials of two 38mm Altiplano Zodiac references. One of these two 38-piece limited editions features a vividly expressive blue dragon and the other a Phoenix in shades of red, pink and orange against a cloudy sky formed from a mix of engraved white and grey mother-of-pearl.

The dragon has also inspired four new timepieces In the Haute Joaillerie watch collection. The first is a 41mm Altiplano Dragon, in which Anita Porchet’s paillonné enamelling is complemented by a splendid creature engraved in gold. Issued in a numbered eight-piece edition, this watch whose bezel and lugs are adorned with diamonds is powered by the Manufacture’s ultra-thin mechanical Calibre 830P.

The Piaget Emperador collection has also been enriched by an enchanting model in which the fabulous animal engraved in gold coils itself around the 46.5mm case and on the dial. In addition to the two Dauphine-type hours and minutes hands, the dial is graced by a flying tourbillon and a finely engraved oscillating weight. Snow-set sapphires and diamonds form a gradient representing a blue sky dotted with twinkling stars.

Two ladies’ jewellery watches in eight-piece limited editions also showcase the expertise of the Manufacture’s artisans. Crafted from marquise-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds, Phoenix feathers adorn the 32mm case of the first model paired with a yellow gold bracelet featuring the Palace Décor, one of Piaget’s most famous engraving techniques. The second combines diamonds, rubies and white gold.

Finally, this new collection also includes Haute Joaillerie creations in the shape of brooch and a Dragon ring, as well as two pairs of Phoenix earrings. These are exceptional pieces of jewellery harmoniously mingling gold, diamonds, rubies and sapphires to bring these fabulous animals to life.
