A miniature “jigsaw puzzle” composed of 81 interlocking pieces, the dial of this timepiece is a unique work of art stemming from the meticulous work of a micropainting virtuoso. To achieve this feat, the artisan had to dismantle the puzzle to paint the edges of each piece with precision. He then painstakingly reassembled them to form the dial. Thanks to his technical mastery, he was able to capture the essence of the panda, a peaceful and emblematic animal.
In addition to this quiet and endearing member of the bear family, the Neuchâtel-based Manufacture features four other animals – lion, tiger, elephant and cobra – on the dial of its Savanna Tourbillon – each timepiece thus being a unique model. These exceptional watches feature a flying tourbillon with an off-centre cage that defies gravity in a striking manner. The hand-wound mechanism is equipped with a double barrel. Known as “volte-face”, this system enables the two barrels to be arranged head to tail and to discharge simultaneously, ensuring a 96-hour power reserve.
The movement is housed in an 18K 5N rose gold case measuring 40mm in diameter. The dial is protected by a sapphire dome, a real technical feat that reveals all the details of the puzzle and the tourbillon.
