Years before he won a prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2022 (where he was awarded the Horologival Revelation Prize), Sylvain Pinaud crossed paths with William Massena at a collectors’ evening in Geneva. The watchmaker’s avant-garde titanium monopusher chronograph immediately caught the eye of Massena LAB’s founder.
After seeing the timepiece, he asked to place an order for it himself, but with a revised case design. The collaborative spark was thus ignited, giving life to the Sylvain Pinaud X Massena LAB Monopoussoir Chronograph.
Almost entirely hand-made in Sylvain Pinaud’s workshop in Sainte-Croix, this watch is powered by a manually wound movement featuring a fully integrated column-wheel chronograph with horizontal clutch. Time measurement can be started, stopped and reset using a single pusher discreetly located on the crown. The dial is a blend of modern design and vintage aesthetics inspired by maritime chronometers. The windows on the sides of the case and the sapphire caseback draw the gaze and provide a glimpse of the meticulous craftsmanship and artistic expertise characterising Sylvain Pinaud watches. Production is limited to just three timepieces per year.
