TAG Heuer and Monaco Grand Prix 2023

Last May, driver Max Verstappen’s victory on the Principality’s circuit marked the culmination of an emotional weekend.

After fierce competition, he crossed the finish line in first place, cementing his place in motor racing history. His Oracle Red Bull Racing Team, of which the watchmaker is a longstanding partner, celebrated another success. The Monaco Grand Prix is considered to be one of the most difficult races of the Formula 1 season. With its narrow streets, tight bends and high-speed straights, the circuit demands precision, skill and nerves of steel.

TAG Heuer took advantage of this 80th edition of the Grand Prix to present a new model of the Heuer Monaco, created more than 50 years ago. For the first time, the collection reveals the watch mechanism through an openworked dial. Available in three different versions –”Original Blue”, “Racing Red” and “Turquoise” – these timepieces are designed to offer an avant-garde interpretation of the world of motor racing. Their contemporary style is especially aimed at the new generation. The Heuer 02 movement driving the collection uses a conventional column wheel to activate the chronograph and offers an 80-hour power reserve. An engraved oscillating weight is visible through the sapphire caseback.
