MELB Luxe invests in the capital of Agenhor

Edouard Meylan (owner MELB Luxe & CEO H. Moser & Cie), Laurent & Nicolas Wiederrecht (co-owners Agenhor)

The MELB Luxe group, owner of H. Moser & Cie, Hautlence and Precision Engineering, has invested in the capital of the Geneva workshop Agenhor.

This minority investment is part of the integration process pursued by the family holding company. Edouard Meylan, owner of MELB Luxe and CEO of H. Moser & Cie, has joined the board of directors of Agenhor, bringing his entrepreneurial vision and his in-depth knowledge of Haute Horlogerie to the skills already in place.

Sharing a common philosophy and values, Agenhor and MELB Luxe have a solid history and foundation. Both are currently in the midst of a development and growth phase, on different scales, but with the same desire to move forward. Moreover, the two independent family businesses are characterised by a certain sense of renewal and are both in the hands of a young generation. It is therefore quite natural that the desire to strengthen the existing links should have arisen.

Continuing to enjoy complete independence, Agenhor will carry on serving its existing and future clients with the same care and the same respect for confidentiality as in the past. This strategic merger consolidates the company and ensures its durability. With the vast majority of the business remaining in the hands of the Wiederrecht family, Agenhor retains full freedom to develop and can count on the support of the Meylan family if necessary. MELB Luxe thus guarantees financial security and access to Precision Engineering’s regulating bodies, while securing its supply of movements and strategic modules.

In a highly competitive industry, where the big groups tend to dictate the rules, bringing Agenhor and H. Moser & Cie together through MELB Luxe is an important strategic move. Together, the two companies are stronger, more creative, more innovative and more stable. The prospects for development promise to be rich and varied, starting with the Agengraphe movement, which both brands are keen to develop further. Another major advantage of this acquisition is that the MELB Luxe group will have a branch in French-speaking Switzerland.
