Mondaine marks 175 years of the first SBB line

Mondaine is celebrating the 175th anniversary of rail travel in Switzerland. The first passenger line between Zurich and Baden was inaugurated on 7 August 1847.

This type of transport made a major contribution to the economic and social development of the country. To mark this event, the Swiss Public Transport Association, the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), PostBus and the SwissPass Alliance are organising various public events in five different regions of Switzerland.

The SBB station clock is an important symbol for Switzerland. It reflects innovation and reliability in a distinctive, timeless and uncluttered design. That is why, in this anniversary year, Mondaine has unveiled the Classic Limited Edition Swiss Railway 175 in collaboration with the public transport organisation. Its vintage parchment-coloured dial is housed in a brushed stainless steel case with a 40mm diameter. Its iconic red seconds hand adds a touch of colour to the composition.
