The Corum Golden Bridge Automatic is 10 years old

In 2011, Corum launched the automatic version of its iconic floating linear movement, equipped with an oscillating weight on rails, the Golden Bridge.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of this famous calibre, the company from La Chaux-de-Fonds is presenting a new range comprising four models. These are available in grade 5 titanium and/or 18K gold, issued in limited editions. For the first time, Corum is using a one-piece sapphire crystal covering the dial and sides of the watch, thereby offering a 360-degree view. Particular care has been taken with the junctions between the angles and the case to ensure the watch is water-resistant (30m). In addition, the brand has invented a floating harness system for its hand-applied hour-markers, giving them a modern and sophisticated look.

All Golden Bridge Automatic 10th Anniversary models are powered by Calibre CO313, comprising 194 components arranged in a line and endowed with a 40-hour power reserve.

The very first linear movement was designed by Vincent Calabrese in the 1970s. The self-taught watchmaker presented the 45-component calibre at the Geneva International Invention Exhibition in 1977. Corum’s managers were present and had the foresight to buy the contract immediately and set to work on developing it with its inventor.
