Hublot supervises apprentice watchmakers

Alexandre Grand and Neels Rentsch

After the official opening of its Manufacture in 2008, followed by a second building in 2015, Hublot took a new step in 2016 by inaugurating a watchmaking training centre.

The brand then hired its first two recruits. Four years later, Alexandre Grand and Neels Rentsch have now been awarded the CFC diploma in watchmaking with a specialisation in watch repair.

The apprenticeship course to earn this Federal Certificate of Capacity takes place over four years in alternation, divided between three days spend in the Manufacture and two days at the Geneva Watchmaking School. The apprentices thus have the opportunity to receive theoretical knowledge at school and to learn all the rudiments of the trade in the company via the expertise of their apprenticeship master, specifically recruited to provide practical instruction.

Since the creation of its watchmaking training centre, Hublot has been recruiting two apprentices each year and now has a staff of eight young people in training.
