Last June, Omega closely followed explorer Victor Vescovo on an expedition which guided the American into the depths of the Challenger Deep, the famous deepest point ever recorded in the oceans.
Having already descended into the abyss of the planet in 2019 on the Five Deeps expedition, this time the adventurer was accompanied by Kathryn D. Sullivan, a former NASA astronaut who, among other things, was the first American woman to perform a spacewalk (1984). Aboard the Limiting Factor submarine, she became the first woman to reach the deepest depths of the ocean. On her wrists she wore not only a Seamaster Planet Ocean but also a Speedmaster X-33 Skywalker, a watch originally designed especially for astronauts, and now also adopted by deep-sea explorers.
