The Affolter group celebrated a century of success

In mid-September, the Affolter group celebrated its century of existence. Private evenings and open days enabled all those who so wished to discover this family business now run by the fourth generation.

Founded in 1919 by Louis Affolter in Renan, the company occupies an imposing square in the heart of the village of Valbirse. The group’s activities, which focus on microtechnology, are based on two main pillars, namely subcontracted manufacturing of watch wheels (Affolter Pignons SA) and the development, manufacture and marketing of machine tools and CNC machinery (Affolter Technologies SA).

The group currently operates on 8,000sqm of industrial space, spread across four sites in Valbirse, providing its 150 employees with modern and functional infrastructures. Since 2008, it has also had an entity in Shanghai (Affolter China).

Since 2016, the fourth generation represented by Gregory and Vincent Affolter has been at the helm, assisted by Nicolas Curty. This high-energy management team is relentlessly pursuing its mission in the service of precision and innovation.
