Montblanc timekeeper of the Goodwood Festival

Montblanc celebrated its second year as The Official Timing Partner of The Goodwood Festival of Speed and seized this great opportunity to celebrate the spirit of racing with the new TimeWalker Limited Edition inspired by Minerva’s rich 160-year history.

From July 12th to 15th, the impressive sporting estate of Goodwood was transformed into the Festival of Speed, one of the greatest festivals of car culture in the world today and an important fixture on the British social calendar. Motor racing enthusiasts were entertained by some of the world’s most accomplished racing drivers behind the wheel of some of today’s rarest and most spectacular machinery.

As Official Timing Partner, Montblanc lent its timekeeping expertise to the numerous races that took place over the four-day event. As is customary each year, the festival culminated in a spectacular 1.16-mile timed Hillclimb Shootout, which determines the champion of the 2018 Festival of Speed and the winner of a Montblanc timepiece: the Montblanc TimeWalker Manufacture Chronograph “Cappuccino” edition.

The Minerva Manufacture was known as an exclusive workshop producing high-quality instruments for measuring brief intervals of time with remarkable precision – for example, the 1/100th of second counter that was presented in 1916. A perfect example of this heritage is the “Rally Timer”, a stopwatch that was created to time motor racing with utmost precision and which has been the source of inspiration for the TimeWalker collection.
