While Breitling’s presence at this year’s edition of Concours d’Elégance Suisse marked a new chapter in its association with luxury cars, it also signalled the continuity of the ties the watch brand enjoys with the automobile world, a passion dating back to the early 20th century.
The Concours d’Elégance Suisse, held from June 22nd to 24th at the Château de Coppet, offered owners of classic and historical cars the possibility of presenting their immaculate treasured vehicles, alongside around 70 other magnificently preserved specimens divided into four dedicated classes. The theme of the 2018 edition – 1920-1939, From Modernity to Design – held particular significance for Breitling, since that was the period when the brand forged powerful ties with both carmaking and aviation, which remain a rich part of its heritage.
Throughout the weekend, the brand’s pop-up boutique presented its brand-new watches that have already been favourably received by an ever-broader clientele. Alongside the current collection, visitors were able to admire historical Breitling models introduced in the 1920s and 1930s.
