Pursuing the work undertaken in 2016, the chemistry department at Laboratoire Dubois is devoting considerable effort to monitoring and applying ongoing standardisation in the analysis of restricted substances.
In early June of this year, it introduced the new method for the analysis of chromium VI in leathers by chromatography.
The implementation of the brand-new method that involves using chromatography to determine the hexavalent chromium content in leathers meets the ISO 17075-2 standard, regarded as the reference by chemical testing standardisation commissions. Its advantage over the colorimetric method (ISO 17075-1) is the absence of any interference potentially caused by the colour of the extract.
