Roxer SA at the service of watchmakers for 60 years

On 28 October, the Roxer SA company of La Chaux-de-Fonds, celebrated its 60 years of activity in the field of water-resistance and component assembly for watches. Céline Paroz, the company CEO, had invited clients, media representatives and local authorities to an event at the city’s old power plant.

Founded in 1956 by Jean Von Allmen, the house of Roxer specialises in instruments designed to perform water-resistance testing. In 1989, Rémy Paroz (the Vacotec founder) acquired the business and developed a major technical design office. The company masters the entire manufacturing process - from the prototype to a series of 50 to 200 pieces - and has become a privileged partner of watch companies.

Following Rémy Paroz retirement in 2001, his daughter Céline took over the management of Roxer. Then in 2004 she purchased the assets of Seiler - a Jura specialist in hand-fitting - which was bankrupt at the time. With its two flagship brands the firm from La Chaux-de-Fonds has become a world reference in the verification of water resistance and hand-fitting. It has around thirty employees.

To celebrate 60 years of independence and innovation, Roxer presented a revolutionary air-resistance testing machine at the EPHJ exhibition in 2016: the Decarox which verifies ten watches simultaneously. Another instrument designed to test resistance this time to water, the  Aquavac, has been a world reference in this field for six decades.
