
From 1 January 2017, TAG Heuer will be the official timekeeper to the BMC Racing Team of professional cyclists. This year the American team comprises 29 athletes of twelve different nationalities and is one of the four favourite teams in the cycling world.
Announced on the eve of the opening of the UCI 2016 World Road Cycling Championships on 8 October, this cooperative venture marks the brand’s return to this sport. Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of the watchmaking company and Chairman of the LVMH Group’s Watch Division, joined Andy Rihs, team proprietor and Jim Ochowicz, President and General Manager of the sports team, to celebrate the event. Former racing cyclists Dag Otto Lauritzen and Eddy Merckx were also in attendance.
