Tissot welcomes the Tour de France in Berne

The Tour de France will stop over in Berne from 18 to 20 July. Two months to the day before this happens, Tissot, the event’s official timekeeper, announced its partnership with the city of Berne to welcome one of the world’s most prestigious cycling races.

Under the slogan «Let’s share the passion», the city of Berne will organise a day dedicated to the population and cycling on the eve of arrival of the first stage. On 18 July, the 16th stage of the Tour will finish inside the Stade de Suisse. After this comes a rest day, while the following stage, which will take riders to the Emosson dam at Finhaut (VS), will begin in the old town and pass through La place du Palais Fédéral. It should be remembered that the Tour de France is followed by around 2,100 media outlets, including 92 television channels broadcasting 6,200 hours of racing, while 100,000 spectators are expected in the Berne region to watch the event. This Swiss stage is therefore excellent publicity not only for the region and the Le Locle brand, but also for the country as a whole.

To share this passion with the population, a countdown was set in motion on La Place de la Gare on 18 May in the presence of François Thiébaud, the president of Tissot, and Alexander Tschäppät, the mayor of Berne. The two partners will work hand in hand to guarantee the success of this event. Tissot also unveiled a special collection of six watches dedicated to the Tour de France, from the classic Tissot PR 100 Tour de France model, to the Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar Tour de France.
