Continuing its long tradition of patronage of the arts and culture, in 2016 Breguet is inaugurating a partnership with the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, one of the most prestigious Italian opera houses.
Founded in 1880, the Teatro dell’Opera brings lovers of classical music and ballet exceptional performances by artists of international renown. Reputed for its unique acoustics, the theatre also benefits from a sumptuous interior décor typified by its dome with ornamental frescoes and featuring a precious Murano crystal candelabra.
This new association between the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome and Breguet will support the art of music that is so dear to the house. Through this partnership, the manufacturer also proposes to pay tribute to the eminent musicians and composers who have left their mark on its history, including such famous names as Gioachino Rossini, Arthur Rubinstein and Sergueï Rachmaninov.
Officialised last February, this new partnership has been celebrated with a performance of the famous opera "Il Barbiere di Siviglia", by Gioachino Rossini. The choice of this work is particularly symbolic because the great composer was one of Breguet’s famous clients. In his lifetime, he was the fortunate owner of a small and straightforward Breguet watch, which accompanied him throughout his life.
