By finishing third in the Austrian Grand Prix in June this year, Felipe Massa made the fortieth podium appearance of his career. The driver is the first sportsman to have joined the Richard Mille family of ambassadors and in ten years of collaboration has never taken the wheel of a Formula 1 car without one of the brand’s watches on his wrist.
Throughout this partnership Felipe has contributed widely to various developments of the Jura based manufacturer. In particular he helped pave the way for some extraordinary technical solutions, such as the carbon nanofiber bottom plates tested initially with the RM 006 FM and subsequently featured on many models, or the machining of new and original materials such as the Alusic cases of the RM 009 FM.
In the run-up to the tenth anniversary of this collaboration, which has developed into a genuine friendship, Richard Mille dedicates a special edition to Felipe Massa featuring the RM 056 and RM 011 models, called the «Felipe Massa 10th Anniversary». These special edition models are decorated for the occasion in the driver’s colours. Flanges, transfers, pushbuttons and crowns are in blue and yellow, while Felipe’s logo is subtly apposed at 1 o’clock. On the RM 011, the number 19, used by Felipe in races, is cleverly adapted to suggest the twelfth hour on the sapphire dial, while his signature, inscribed on the caseback of both models, adds the finishing touch to these unusual designs.
The «10th Anniversary» collection is a very exclusive edition. Only ten of the RM 056 will be produced, while the RM 011 will appear in a limited edition of 100 pieces.
