A renewal in the Jura brand

A new chapter in the history of Swiza began this spring. Founded in 1904, the brand has been developing and manufacturing watch movements, alarms and miniature clocks for more than 110 years in Delémont.

And for more than a year, under the direction of Peter Hug, a team has been working on the design of a new international brand, Switz International. These two companies have struck up a strategic partnership. In addition to miniature clocks and alarms, entirely new designs will be launched this summer under the traditional Swiza brand. Wristwatches, baggage and rucksacks will be offered to consumers, as well as rechargeable batteries and cables for hand-held devices. More products will follow in the months ahead.

Shared roots are at the base of Swiza’s new positioning: the excellent production quality and micro-engineering skills of the Jura region, coupled with traditional watchmaking and international sales experience, as well as the development of products targeted at today’s active population.

The brand’s new visual identity and its first new products were unveiled at Baselworld. As part of this project, seventeen jobs have been created since October 2013, including thirteen at the head office in Delémont. In the medium term, the group plans to employ around fifty people.

Swiza and Switz International presented five product lines at Baselworld. Featuring five different models, the Nowus collection is a paragon of robustness and elegance, blending traditional values such as quality workmanship and reliability with the colours of today’s Switzerland.
