On 2 December, the company Norkom, situated in Montfaucon (Jura) opened its new premises in the presence of the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of the Canton of Jura, Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, as well as the firm’s various partners.
Established in 1974, Norkom formation SA has specialised since its inception in activities related to the watchmaking, engineering and polishing sectors. In 1993 it formed a partnership with the Swiss disability insurance scheme (AI) to promote vocational training and reinsertion in the world of work. Its mission is to accompany women and men in a new life as they seek to benefit from the independence of having a job. Today Norkom delivers more than 14,000 training days a year, leading to qualifications such as the CFC (Federal Certificate of Capacity) and the AFP (Vocational Training Certificate).
The firm also markets its own brand of watches, UCS. At present, Norkom formation SA employs around a dozen staff. They train the 70 or so employees working in watchmaking, polishing and engineering workshops, and more recently in the field of office automation.
