Founded in 2003 by Michael Vogt, the firm Vogard made an impression straight away by placing on the market a timepiece intended for globetrotters, the Timezoner. The patented system of this watch allows time-zones to be changed very quickly simply by moving the bezel. It is also the only mechanical watch to indicate summer time. Since being presented at Baselworld in 2004, the Timezoner has been hugely successful and several thousand watches have been sold.
Lacking the financial resources needed to develop the product, Michael Vogt has decided to sell the Timezoner patent to IWC Schaffhausen. Vogard will therefore cease production of this model at the end of December 2014. The firm will however continue to provide after-sales service and deliver spare parts to its clients.
