On 30 October 2014, Geneva played host to the traditional gala evening in support of Action Sabrina, named after a small girl who died of cancer.
The event was held at the Hôtel Président Wilson and was funded entirely by Chopard. The many guests experienced unforgettable moments filled with emotion and showed exceptional generosity towards the institution, which this year celebrates its twentieth anniversary.
Action Sabrina works in close collaboration with the onco-haematology unit of Geneva Children’s Hospital and seeks to meet all the needs of young cancer sufferers undergoing long and painful treatments. It focuses on the healthcare and comfort of hospitalised children, as well as their education and moral support. For example, Action Sabrina supports hospital clowns («hopi-clowns») and their happy, caring presence, pays in full for the post of a hypnotherapist, covers the costs of Chaperon Rouge (an organisation which helps to maintain the level of education of children during their stays in hospital), and regularly organises trips and excursions, with all activities under medical supervision.
As a partner of Action Sabrina since its inception, Chopard offers its heartfelt support. All funds raised during this year’s Dolce Vita themed evening - featuring a fashion parade with models dressed by Alexis Mabille wearing the latest luxury jewellery creations of the House - will be paid in full to the association.
