Eberhard & Co - Travelling through time in Milan

The Swiss watchmaker sponsored the fourth edition of MIA FAIR, held from 23 to 25 May in Milan. At the event it presented an ambitious project organised in collaboration with the Cinisello Balsamo’s Museum of Contemporary Photography, namely an award entitled «Time Reclaimed - Photographs Not To Be Lost». Dedicated to the private archives of photographers who have made a valuable contribution from an artistic or documentary perspective in any of the medium’s forms - portraits, landscapes, fashion, design, photojournalism, architecture - the award brings a new dimension to the world of photographic competitions: turning the spotlight on images from the past, rather than contemporary works or projects. A unique opportunity to raise the profile of photographers whose work today is often forgotten.

From 2013 to 2015, the promoters are focusing on post-war photography, dividing this period into three parts: the 1950s, 60s and 70s. The 2014 edition showcased the 1960s. The award went to the photographic archives of Tranquillo Casiraghi (1923-2005) whose images of 1960s society captured the essence of Italy during this period.
