News In December, Jaquet Droz became the exclusive Presenting Partner of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne. The partnership was sealed by several shows which took place at the end of last month at the Théâtre de Beaulieu, in Lausanne.
The famous ballet company, today directed by Gil Roman, was founded in 1987 by Maurice Béjart. A dance phenomenon and a role model for contemporary choreographers, the man born in Marseille in 1927 was, until his death in 2007, one of the «superstars» of modern dance. A free spirit and a genuine visionary, he made his debut in Paris in 1946, before spending thirty years in Brussels with the famous Ballets du XXe Siècle.
