Following the decision by Maki Onjo and her family to move abroad, the FH has hired Ayako Nakano as new director of the FH Centre in Tokyo, where she took up her duties on 1st January.
Aged 36, married and the mother of one child, Ayako Nakano is a graduate of Tokyo’s J. F. Oberlin University. After a stay in the United States (Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte, North Carolina), she occupied different posts, firstly in the world of diplomacy (United States Embassy in Japan) and later with an international property management firm. From 2008, she was Marketing Director for the Japan/Asia/Pacific region with an international company offering solutions in financial security, risk management and compliance for government finance institutions.
With this changeover, the FH would like to express its warm and sincere thanks to Maki Onjo for her work on behalf of the Swiss watch industry over the past five years, and for her dedication and loyalty to FH members. A warm welcome, too, to Ayako Nakano in her new role, and there can be no doubt that Swiss watch manufacturers will place the same trust in her as they did in her predecessor.
The transition will take effect at the next Baselworld show (26 March - 3 April 2014) where Maki Onjo and Ayako Nakano will both be present and more than happy to talk with FH members wishing to meet them.
