Chopard - Green Carpet Challenge

Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, and Livia Firth, Creative Director of Eco-Age and founder of the Green Carpet Challenge (GCC), have reached a new milestone in The Journey, their exciting initiative to develop sustainable style and luxury. The brand is blazing a trail for a new type of jewellery industry, confirming its position as leader by unveiling a new piece in the Green Carpet Collection at the Venice Film Festival, worn by Virginie Ledoyen at the closing ceremony.

With the Green Carpet Collection, Chopard underlines its strong commitment to sustainable luxury by making it one of the brand’s core values. In keeping with the demands of the GCC label, this collection is designed and produced according to the highest standards of sustainable development.

With this challenge, Chopard and Eco-Age - a consultancy firm that accompanies brands in the pursuit of growth by guiding them along ecologically sound lines - have established a partnership that reflects Chopard’s social and environmental responsibilities, and the pioneering role it intends to play. It was in May 2013, at Cannes Film Festival, that the Geneva-based manufacturer, in partnership with Livia Firth, took its first steps on The Journey, a far-reaching initiative that aims to create the conditions for sustainable luxury.

Known the world over, the Green Carpet Challenge has rapidly acquired a high profile, forging links between glamour and style. Since its inception, it has raised awareness among leading international designers and won them over to its cause. For her work and commitment to the GCC, Livia Firth received a United Nations «Leader of Change» Award in November 2012.
