As the principal partner of the Montreux Jazz Festival for the seventh consecutive year, Parmigiani Fleurier is more committed than ever before to an ambitious cooperation which confirms the close ties between two artistic fields: music and luxury watchmaking. The manufacture hosted its guests who were invited to share a unique moment together throughout the event in its big VIP box (more than 90 m2). After the concerts, they were given an opportunity to meet the brand’s artist friends in a different setting.
Following a competition bringing together promising talents, the Parmigiani Montreux Jazz Piano Solo Competition, Parmigiani Fleurier presented an award on 6 July last to Jerry Leonide. Organised since 1999 by Claude Nobs, this competition in which dozens of young jazz pianists from all over the world take part, gives the winner an opportunity to record a disk and then appear on many stages, including the 2014 edition of the festival. As a bonus, the prize winner was presented with a timepiece of the brand, the Kalpa Grande or XL model, specially created for the occasion. In addition, ten watches - five Kalpa Grande and five Kalpa XL - specially designed for this edition and stamped Montreux Jazz Festival 2013, were presented to the artists selected by the festival management.
As a partner of the famous Montreux Jazz Café from the outset, Parmigiani Fleurier is also spreading the Montreux spirit. Located in Geneva and Zurich international airports, at Harrods in London and shortly at the Gare de Lyon in Paris and the EPFL in Lausanne, these lounges delight lovers of music – especially jazz – and culinary excellence.
