H. Moser & Cie - A Wind Of Change

Following the takeover of the company H. Moser & Cie, MELB Holding has confirmed its intention to establish a group of independent brands. With the restructuring of this strategic acquisition still in progress, Edouard Meylan becomes the new CEO of Moser Watch Holding. He thus takes over the general management of H. Moser & Cie and will be able to rely on the support of the existing team.

At the end of 2012, when MELB Holding became the majority shareholder of H. Moser & Cie, Georges-Henri Meylan (Chairman) and Bill Muirhead (CEO) made clear their ambition to return H. Moser & Cie to profitability and revive its prestige within a three-year timeframe. Today, H. Moser & Cie has around fifty employees, possesses six proprietary calibres and controls the design process thanks to an R&D department, a drawing office for movements and cases, and an integrated assembly workshop. With production of its regulating organs and balance-springs in its own hands, the manufactory is following the course set by MELB Holding, which intends to create synergies among its brands at a commercial and industrial level.

To help bring its ambitions to fruition, MELB Holding has decided to breathe new entrepreneurial life into the existing team. Edouard Meylan takes over as CEO. Holding a Master’s degree in engineering sciences from the EPFL and an MBA from Wharton (UPENN), he is well known in watchmaking circles through his experience with Celsius X VI II in the capacity of CEO and co-founder. He brings to the brand his global management know-how, expertise ranging from product design to distribution, and a genuinely entrepreneurial spirit. Edouard Meylan officially started his tenure on 1st April this year but has already been actively involved in the company for some months. At his side, he can count on the experience of Daniel Zimmermann, Executive Sales Director. A real cornerstone of H. Moser & Cie, having been with the company since 2005, he brings his knowledge of the network and his passion for the brand, which he knows from top to bottom and works tirelessly to promote. The management team will also be strengthened by Yara Ainsworth, Marketing Manager. She provides solid expertise acquired and developed in particular with IWC and Swarovski, giving her a comprehensive grasp of all aspects of marketing and communication.
