For three days the FH thematic exhibition «Think Time - Think Swiss Excellence» set up quarters in the city of Istanbul.
The Turkish leg of the FH travelling exhibition took place from 21 to 23 December 2012 in Istanbul and was a huge success. For three days, visitors flocked to the Lufti Kirdar Hall conference centre to discover 22 Swiss watch brands such as Breitling, Bulova, Corum, DeWitt, Edox, Ellicott, Eterna, Franck Muller, Hermès, Maurice Lacroix, Movado, Oris, Perrelet, Raymond Weil, Zenith, Rolex, Romain Jerome, TAG Heuer, TechnoMarine, Ulysse Nardin, Ventura Design on Time and Victorinox Swiss Army.
During this event, the FH sought to immerse the spectator in the world of measuring time. The «Think Time - Think Swiss Excellence» exhibition was able to reflect a changing world, rich and full of contrasts. Expertise, professionalism and precision were much to the fore, giving the consumer an idea of the excellence that has always characterised Swiss timepieces, a remarkably controlled balance between tradition and innovation.
For Irfan Naçalci, the tireless president of the organising committee of «Swiss Time in Istanbul», as well as Turkish importers and others involved in the exhibition, it can safely be said that all objectives were achieved. The outcome was even more satisfying given that Irfan Naçalci had been planning the event for eight years. Indeed for the latter, the idea of organising this exhibition on Turkish soil first came to mind in 2003. Planned initially for 2004, it was then subject to repeated postponements. Happily for the president, the real linchpin of the project, all the planning and preparations finally came to fruition.
On 20 December, i.e. the day before the start of the festivities, a press conference was held at the Swissotel hotel in Istanbul, attended by members of the local press and journalists from specialist publications and featuring as guest of honour Monika Schmutz Kirgöz, the Swiss Consulate-General in Istanbul. The latter also attended the gala evening organised at the exhibition venue, accompanied by 200 other guests.
