Affolter Pignons - Expansion In Malleray

Affolter Pignons, a member of the Affolter group, has decided to invest four million francs in the construction of a new building located at number 62, Grand-Rue in Malleray. Work began last October. The new infrastructure is expected to become operational this summer and is destined to house milling activities currently based in the existing building at number 74, Grand-Rue. The new premises will greatly optimise the working environment and boost the productive capacity of this activity: a 20% increase in the machine inventory, costing around three million francs, may eventually be installed there.

Milling is one of the group’s strategic activities, since the sister company, Affolter Technologies, develops, manufactures and sells numerically controlled milling machines. With this major investment, the group consolidates its position in the manufacture of gear-trains for the watch industry and underlines its attachment to its home town in the Berne Jura.
