Carl F. Bucherer - Fredy Barth Ambassador

The Lucerne-based manufacturer Carl F. Bucherer has acquired a new ambassador: Swiss racing driver Fredy Barth.

Fredy Barth dedicates every minute of his day to the pursuit of his objectives. “Better to die for a cause than live for nothing”: that is his credo. The motto fits him like a glove. At age 18 the young man was struck down by a cancer of the lymph nodes. His passion for motor sport gave him the motivation he needed to survive. His recovery was followed by an exceptionally rapid career: over and above sports successes, including his victory in the Winfield World Challenge in 2000, he took his school-leaving certificate and went on to set up his own business in 2005.

Today, Fredy Barth is one of the world’s finest racing drivers and also a sought-after instructor for events or training courses dedicated to the cause of driving; he remains a privileged guest at all kinds of events. Finally, his commitment to charity is unrivalled. For many years he has been personally committed to the attainment of the goals of the "Children and cancer – Swiss Research Foundation".
