Harry Winston - A Manufacture In Plan-les-Ouates

At the end of 2007, Harry Winston took possession of its new watchmaking manufactory in Plan-les-Ouates, which employs around a hundred people.

The industrial wing of the Timepiece Manufacture houses all production processes (excluding the dials that continue to be made at Les Cadraniers): the manufacture of cases, timepiece assembly, gem setting and quality control. The commercial wing of the facility is home to design, international sales, marketing and communications, security, IT, finance, internal audit and human resources.

"The Timepiece Manufacture will enable us to extend our production capacity to meet the growing global demand of our product. At the same time, we are able to house all of our activities under one roof, providing a streamlined approach that is essential for maintaining an efficient and effective business model," said Thomas O’Neill, CEO of Harry Winston.

The Timepiece Facility is located in the heart of the watchmaking district in Plan-les-Ouates. It was designed by Patrice Reynaud and Philippe Gaillard in conjunction with Frederic Legendre, whose work includes the Harry Winston stand at Baselworld. The building has a unique, contemporary feel with elements that are reflective in many ways of a Harry Winston timepiece. Glass details are incorporated throughout the building to evoke the glimmer and sparkle of a diamond -- the hallmark of Harry Winston. The use of distinctive materials, such as marble from India, allows the new Harry Winston Timepiece Manufacture to stand out as a superior example of the company’s commitment to modern innovation and quality.
