Hublot - Euro 2008 In Sight

On 22 February this year, Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of Hublot, announced the watch manufacturer’s partnership with Euro 2008 in the presence of Michel Platini, president of UEFA, and Ralph Zloczower, president of the Swiss Football Association.

Hublot is already familiar with the world of football through its association with the Swiss team in the 2006 World Cup adventure. Delighted by this unusual experience for a watch manufacturer, Jean-Claude Biver has stated his intention to forge new links with the European game. Not least since the matches will take place in Switzerland, a rare opportunity to play the promotional card on home ground!

It is customary for Hublot to innovate and to go where others fear to tread… As a luxury watch manufacturer, it felt a need to explore new surroundings. Starting a trend for luxury partnerships in this environment is a typically singular endeavour on the part of Jean-Claude Biver, a visionary and pioneer fond of overturning established principles and taking risks.

During the press conference which took place at the headquarters of UEFA in Nyon, Jean-Claude Biver declared: "Switzerland’s quintessential industry must without fail promote a sporting event of this calibre, co-organised by Switzerland and Austria! I am very happy that Hublot is partnering the event and acquainting luxury timepieces with the world of football by becoming the Official Timekeeper of UEFA Euro 2008."
