News On 30 November, Omega opened its Geneva store in the presence of its highly glamorous representative, the Australian actress Nicole Kidman, who made the trip specially.
Situated on the elegant rue du Rhône, a strategic location in Geneva, this sophisticated store - the 27th owned by the Biel based company worldwide – presents prestigious Omega watches and the firm’s latest jewellery collections in a luxurious and spacious setting (240 m²). For the inauguration, Nicole Kidman wore an 18-carat red gold De Ville Co-Axial automatic chronograph with diamond bezel, beautifully enhanced by a rich chocolate-coloured dial. Despite its recent launch, this watch is already a classic and, like Nicole Kidman, combines scintillating intelligence and beauty.
During the press conference, Nicole Kidman, escorted by Nicolas Hayek and Stephen Urquhart, gave a talk on her humanitarian activity and her commitment to UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women). Then, accompanied by the city’s mayor André Hediger, she visited the Geneva headquarters of the association "Solidarité Femmes", which offers support and assistance to female victims of domestic violence.
At a high profile party in the evening at the Crystal Tent on Quai Général Guisan the actress mingled with guests that included fellow brand ambassadors Abishek Bachchan, the famous Indian actor, Russell Coutts, three times winner of America’s Cup, as well as Pierre Mueller , the representative of the City.
The highlight of the evening was when Nicole Kidman signed the box containing the De Ville Co-Axial ladies’ Chronograph and proceeded to lock the watch inside a transparent safe. Each one of the 450 guests attending the glittering soirée were given a key to see which lucky key holder could open the lock and become the proud wearer of Nicole Kidman’s choice of timepiece.
