Six months after the opening of the first IWC store in Europe on Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse, the second point of sale in Switzerland of the Schaffhouse based watch manufacturer has opened its doors in Geneva, at No.2 rue du Rhône. In it, the manufacturer's range of products can be discovered over a floor space of nearly 70 m2. The black, white and grey design is luxurious in the minimalist style, thereby emphasising the technical character of IWC watches. The furnishings are manufactured from refined aluminium and chrome-plated steel, and floors and walls have a natural structure whilst also exhibiting a finish of the highest level. This design with its light and technical effect was the brainchild of Guy Bove, the head of design at IWC.
On 20 June this year, the opening of the new store was celebrated in fitting style by Georges Kern, CEO of IWC, Pierre-François Unger, president of the Council of State of Geneva, and the legend of Formula 1 and IWC ambassador Jean Alesi. "After Dubai, Las Vegas, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul and Zurich, we now have a point of sale in the renowned centre of luxury watchmaking that is Geneva," said a delighted Georges Kern.
Clients wishing to acquire their IWC watch in a setting strongly impregnated with the brand's identity will visit the store on the rue du Rhône to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of luxury watchmaking. The sobriety of the space reflects the company's philosophy. Here, everything is focused on the central theme: the complex technology of IWC watches. Clients keen to discover the manufacturer's world will be given all the technical information they could ask for and will learn interesting details about the manufactory's history and tradition, as well as the development of different groups of products.
