Swiss watch manufacturer Oris is teaming up once again with the Formula 1 Grand Prix series and will be improving its visibility for the 2006 season: the firm’s logo will be present on both sides of the front wings of WilliamsF1 Team cars, a place of honour that allows Oris to reaffirm its commitment as official watch sponsor of the WilliamsF1 Team for three years. This successful partnership combines two fascinating worlds: the precision engineering of luxury watchmaking and the high-tech dimension of motor sport. Two passions fuelled, both for Oris and the WilliamsF1 Team, by tradition and innovation.
During the 2006 season, Oris will be asserting its presence not only on the racing cars themselves. All members of the WilliamsF1 Team will wear Oris watches. In addition, the firm’s logo will appear on the right-hand sleeve of the driver’s suits of Mark Webber, Nico Rosberg, Alex Wurz and Narain Karthikeyan, as well as on clothing worn by the support team.
The partnership has also led to the launch of Oris WilliamsF1 Team watches, with three new Day Date models offering an immediate visual affinity with the world of high-level competition. Red, blue or yellow, the hour numerals form an original contrast against the black dial, emphasising its "dashboard" look. Produced with meticulous attention to detail, the flanged dial is decorated with a dual display of the day and date at 6 o’clock. The steel case, water-resistant to 50 metres, with its large Oris crown, stands out by dint of its original multi-part construction: a very streamlined "fuselage", available with black PVD coating for the model with red numerals, or in bare steel for models with blue or yellow numerals. The mobile horns of the WilliamsF1 case ensure optimal comfort for the wearer and an exceptionally smooth "suspension". The black rubber strap adopts the profile of Formula 1 tyres; models without black PVD coating are also available with a metallic bracelet. These watches with their high-tech inspiration are powered by a precision movement equipped with a red Oris rotor, visible through the back cover.
