Barely eighteen months after taking the helm at Hublot, Jean-Claude Biver is in a position to announce exceptional results. Recording a turnover of around 42-43 million francs, the company increased its sales by 85% last year and its helmsman forecasts further growth of 60% or even 80% for 2006, with sights set on a turnover of 100 million francs in 2007. In terms of the number of pieces, 13,800 watches were sold in 2005, including 2,000 Big Bang models, the company’s new flagship range, which will see its production increased this year to 8,000 pieces – an astonishing figure bearing in mind that the lowest price in this collection is 9,600 francs. At Baselworld, Hublot also presented several new versions of the Big Bang, including the "41 mm", slightly smaller than the original which has a case diameter of 44 mm (in our photo, the white ceramic Aspen model with matching-colour dial and rubber wristlet). But on the banks of the Rhine, Jean-Claude Biver also unveiled two exceptional pieces, the Bigger Bang and the Magma Bang.
