News For the eighth consecutive year, Chopard was the official partner of the Cannes Festival, the 58th edition of which was celebrated from 11 to 21 May this year. On this occasion, a great many stars climbed the famous steps wearing luxury jewellery from the Geneva based manufactory. They included: Sharon Stone, Salma Hayek, Charlotte Rampling, Catherine Deneuve, Aishawara Rai, Elsa Pataki, Diane Kruger, Julie Delpy, Emmanuelle Béart, Jessica Alba, Penelope Cruz, Ornella Muti and Eva Herzigova. A truly wonderful cast!
However, Chopard shone with particular brilliance on two special occasions. Firstly on 15 May at the Carlton Hotel for the Chopard Trophy awards, presented to the best male and female newcomers of the year, in this case the Irish actress Kelly Reilly and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers. Then of course on 21 May during the closing ceremony, when the brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne were presented by two-times Oscar winner Hilary Swank with the highly coveted Palme d'or, straight from the Chopard workshops, for their film "L'Enfant".
