Grand-Duchy Of Luxembourg - New Success For The FH

After Lausanne, Bangkok, Milan, Mumbai and Hong Kong, it was in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg, at the biennial event Les Journées de la Passion (26-28 November), that the FH, for the last time in 2004, presented the eight panels of the thematic exhibition Think Time - Think Swiss Excellence.

In the fairytale setting of the Cercle municipal, an eager and delighted crowd was plied with information about the Swiss watchmaking industry, before being dazzled by a thousand and one examples of Luxembourg's commerce in luxury goods in the guise of jewellery, watches and clocks. L'Argenterie, Beaumont, Eugène Hoffmann, Huberty, Kass-Jentgen, Kayser-Reinert, List, Molitor and Schroeder were among those who responded to the invitation issued by organiser Jean Perini.

In terms of Swiss watchmaking, no fewer than 25 manufacturers were represented: Armin Strom, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Blancpain, Breguet, Breitling, Buccelatti, Bunz, Chopard, Christian Dior, Ebel, Franck Muller, Fred, Glashütte, Gucci, Hublot, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Omega, Oris, Piaget, Ulysse Nardin, Vacheron Constantin and Zenith. Spectators were won over by a resplendent world of glittering gold and sparkling diamonds vying for supremacy in creativity and elegance.

Notable visitors included the Mayor of Luxembourg, the Swiss ambassador to Luxembourg, Ingrid Apelbaum-Pidoux, and attaché Giancarlo Fenini.

Following this stopover on the territory of Luxembourg's Ducal Fortress, the FH thematic exhibition returned to Switzerland at the end of November to take up its winter quarters. After an overhaul, it will set off again in the spring to other far-flung destinations such as Bahrain, Budapest, Istanbul, Karachi, Los Angeles, New York, Stockholm, Tokyo or Yokohama.
