On 17 October, Kimi Räikkönen, one of the most audacious and fiery Formula 1 drivers since Ayrton Senna, visited La Chaux-de-Fonds to take part in a training and development program at the headquarters of TAG Heuer. The aim of the visit was to give the driver the opportunity to communicate his experience and views on the Neuchâtel firm's Racer project, in readiness for its scheduled launch early next year.
Kimi Räikkönen declared: "I am proud of, and have enjoyed my association with TAG Heuer since joining Team McLaren Mercedes and am looking forward to continuing to work on the development process of the new TAG Heuer Racer project. It is a brand with which I share a number of values including the continuous process of pushing forward performance levels, which is vital for success in Formula 1 and what makes TAG Heuer's sports watches stand out. The Racer project is the first project I have been actively involved in with TAG Heuer since becoming an ambassador, and it has been really interesting to get more of an understanding of the technology behind their timepieces and a privilege to give my input into the process. The end result is a fantastic timepiece and one I am really looking forward to be wearing".
"We were looking forward to Kimi's visit," said Jean-Christophe Babin, Director of TAG Heuer (on the right in our photo). "Firstly, for his input into the Racer project and secondly, because it gave us the chance to congratulate him and thank him for the extraordinary performances he has put in this season."
TAG Heuer, the official timekeeper of Formula One racing since 1992, is proud of its forthcoming new Racer project sports watch and its partnership with Kimi Räikkönen, a young man of audacious talent and unlimited potential who personifies the core values of the brand.
