The Oris Watch Factory has signed a commercial agreement to become the official supplier and partner to the BMW WilliamsF1 Team. A large number of events are being planned both during Formula1 races and the Basle Watch and Jewellery Fair, together with the BMW WilliamsF1 Team.
Oris, which was founded in 1904 by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian, is based in Hölstein, has an established relationship with the worlds of sport, music and the arts, and markets five ranges of precision timepieces including chronographs.
Formula One, where one hundredth of a second can make the difference between winning and losing, provides the ideal technological context to promote the qualities of Oris's timepieces. Ulrich Herzog, Chairman and CEO, said, "This new relationship is a very important step for Oris. The partnership with the BMW WilliamsF1 Team underlines the Oris High-Mech strategy perfectly. BMW, WilliamsF1 and Oris are all very successful companies that are using leading mechanical engineering principles and innovative technologies to build top class products. We are looking forward to this partnership very much and we are convinced that it will give our watch customers substantial benefits."
At the announcement of the new relationship, WilliamsF1 Managing Director and BMW WilliamsF1 Team Principal, Frank Williams said, "This new relationship is one that gives the team particular satisfaction. The Oris brand is a byword for superior engineering quality and a proud heritage, which I hope is consistent with the values that the BMW WilliamsF1 Team aspires to meet."
