Since its creation in 1983, the company Habillages de Garde-Temps Petitjean SA has counted some of the world's most prestigious brands among its clients, in particular those of the Richemont group, which alone account for more than 45 % of its turnover.
Under these circumstances and in view of the decision by Gilbert Petitjean to sell this activity, the Richemont group considered it a priority to protect its interests by buying out the company. It does however expect to see the latter continue to supply cases and bracelets to the Swiss watchmaking industry. HGT Petitjean SA will thus retain a large degree of autonomy within the group, enabling it to strengthen its partnerships with all its clients. Philippe Petitjean, the founder's son, has been confirmed as the company's CEO.
It should be noted that Les Ateliers Gilbert Petitjean SA, established in Les Brenets since 1975 and specialising in the assembly of mechanical movements (chronographs and chronometers) as well as the casing up of top-of-the-range watches, is in no way affected by the above-mentioned agreement and remains wholly owned by the Petitjean family.
