News Universo, a world leader in watch hands, has now become part of the Swatch Group. Its shareholders accepted the offer drawn up at the end of May by the Bienne-based group. Swatch now controls all the shares; initially it hoped to hold at least two thirds. At a general assembly convened on 15 June, Universo's one hundred shareholders voted unanimously for a modification of the statutes that would allow the takeover to go ahead.
