Carl F. Bucherer names the 2019 Hotel of the Year

The award ceremony was held at the resort, which is located on a spectacular mountain ridge with wonderful views out over Lake Lucerne. This is the twelfth time that the brand and the gourmet guide, who share a long-standing partnership, have presented the Hotel of the Year award.

The Spices Kitchen & Terrace, which serves up authentic Asian cuisine in the heart of Switzerland, is one of four restaurants at the Bürgenstock Resort that will be featured in the 2019 GaultMillau Guide. Constructed as an impressive glass cube, the resort’s award-winning restaurant serves Far Eastern delicacies from its open show kitchen, and guests can take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

The Bürgenstock Resort also share a long and illustrious history. The Grand Hotel, as it was known following its original completion in 1873, seemed to have an almost magical power to attract such renowned names as Charlie Chaplin, Kofi Annan, Sophia Loren, and Audrey Hepburn. Following nine years of planning and construction work, the new Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, a unique blend of historic listed buildings and modern structures with an exemplary sustainability concept, opened on August 28^th 2017.
